The project was made in September 2023, when the city subway was working all night long because of the big holiday.
Usually, when we use the subway to reach the office or back home, there are thousands of people inside. Everybody is always in a hurry. We make the usual route every day and don't pay attention to the stations details. We see only the way out or destinations place to survive in the crowd.
But when you enter the subway at 3 a.m. and you don't see any people inside - you feel a bit strange. You see only big lonely stations and endless crossings. You feel like a mouse in a big box with labyrinth.
Two technics was used in this project:
1. "Evil twins" effect - every station, hall or crossing was cleaned from the commercial, announcement, emergency station, transmission lines, cables, loudspeakers and many other stuff. So when you look at the station on photo - seems like you know the place, but its something wrong with it. It's the same and different in the same time.
2. "Laminar spaces" effect - all the stations and crossings were transformed to an endless labyrinth with no way out. It seems like you never know what will happen around the corner and is there any way out.
